“Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For indeed that’s all who ever have.” – Margaret Mead
The Foundation's Sponsorship Assistance Program has provided over $230,000 in financial support to families for central auditory processing (CAP) services. Anchored by the Royal Arch Masons of Colorado and other friends of the Foundation, this program helps to offset financial barriers to families in need.
One hundred percent of donations received by Able Kids Foundation support this Program.
We started this journey back when Michael was 11 when he was diagnosed with CAPD, he is now 17. A lady stopped at my yard sale and told me about Able Kids Foundation. At last, we were going to get some answers on how to help Michael. So we made the road trip (literally) out to Colorado from Indiana 3 times and each time we have qualified to receive the sponsorship program. We are so thankful and so grateful to be able to receive such a blessing to help lighten the financial expense. We are so grateful for your generosity, compassion and love for those in need. May you all be blessed beyond measure knowing that what you have done is very much appreciated. Michael has improved dramatically in all areas of his life and we are blessed to have you all be a part of our journey and his life’s story. From the depths of our hearts, we thank you!
The Able Kid’s Foundation and the sponsorship program have been invaluable to our family. Though my daughter was always happy and intelligent, she struggled immensely with word sounds, reading and writing, and had fallen behind greatly in school. When we were referred to the Foundation, my daughter was below kindergarten level and was in the middle of her second-grade year. Very fortunately, the Able Kids Foundation let me know that there was a scholarship program and our family qualified. That winter, my daughter was seen at the Foundation. Within a few weeks, my daughter said she noticed a big difference in her hearing, and by the end of the year she was nearly at grade-level in all subjects! Now, as a sixth grader, she is completely at grade-level and relies on her filter daily to do everything from schoolwork to her hobbies like singing, dancing and acting. As a single parent, I have no idea how I could’ve ever afforded this and I am thankful every day. The Able Kids Foundation has given our family a beautiful gift—for my daughter, it’s the chance to be a normal kid and to thrive in school, and as a mom, it’s the peace of mind that we have answers and knowledge. Thank you for your support—you truly have made all the difference in our lives.
Thank you for giving me a scholarship so that I could get my ear filter. I am ten years old and I started seeing Dr. Locke when I was in kindergarten. When I wear my ear filter, I am happy and less tired at school. It makes things easier to understand when people are talking to me and it makes it easier for me to learn in school. Also, when I am happy, I do things to help my family, like feeding the pets and emptying the dishwasher. I have been doing ballet since kindergarten and my filter helps me to listen to my dance teacher and hear the music. Thank you for helping me.
Your extraordinary kindness and generosity over the years has provided financial scholarships to over 500 families in need of CAP services. You make the world a better place for those that struggle to understand auditory information in their daily environments.
